Sri Padmavathi Mahila Hindu Junior Kalasala, established in 1976 by the late Sri Daita Madhusudhana Sastry Garu, is a prestigious institution in Machilipatnam dedicated to girl’s education. At the time of its founding, there was no separate junior college for girls in the region. Recognizing this need, the institution was started under the management of The Hindu Institution, Machilipatnam, and is now overseen by Sri Daita Gopala Krishna Sastry Garu.
The college has been led by a series of committed principals. Late Sri Daita Siva Ramasastry Garu served as the first principal (1976–1977), followed by dedicated leaders like Smt. A. Aruna Prapulla Kumar, Sri H. Annapurna Rao and Smt. Y. Lalithamba until 1989. Smt. Shakira Begum served as principal for 23 years (1989–2012), significantly uplifting the institution. She was succeeded by Smt. S. Aruna Prabha (2012–2021), who promoted academic, sports and cultural activities.
From 2021 to 2024, Sri T. Damodar Garu led the college, encouraging students to prepare for competitive exams like EAMCET. The current principal, Dr. Bharathi Singaraju has continued the legacy by introducing IIT/NEET coaching and smart classrooms to enhance quality and outcome-based learning.
We have over 50 years of experience in the educating students, helping more than thousands of students in enhancing their academic excellence and overall growth. Through strategic planning and innovative solutions, we have supported our students in improving their teaching methodologies, administrative efficiency and digital presence, ensuring a better learning environment for students.
